"We MET AT A The most Random Time."
"Things we're crazy... I worked the past 6 months saving up to buy a ring. I'm a rigger up north just passed Fort Mac. I come from a long line of oil men. well.. oil men as in the guys who do the do of oil. Known the rigs all my life. So distance was always a challenge for me and my lady. Imagine my surprise when I come home one day and she tells me she's pregnant. Now, I like her.. Hell I might even love this girl. But I was never ready to be a dad! not yet!... We waited till she was a little older for us to separate. We met young! Life changes. Even though we split up, we both love our daughter. And that's a trippy thing being in love with someone. You love them no matter what. She is quite literally the other half of my daughter. which is half of me. So their wellbeing and my wellbeing was never a debate. We're a team. Period... But do I miss her? What is there to miss? She is there everyday! I am just on the other side! Intimacy and romance sound the same but are very different. We met at a party about 2 months into freshman year of college. She was studying Psychology and I was doing Engineering. I remember many late nights studying with her and friends. Watching shows together. First time getting into a Bar fight. When someone becomes a part of your life like that... they can never really be gone."
- This is a work of Fiction. Pretty convincing though right?
Also, this isn't a real photo. This is an Ai Mock-up I used to to promote the shirt.
However though it does bring up an interesting idea. Contemporary cultural idioms that have found their way into different facets of Cultural integration and social hierarchies.
the First topic of Discussion: The Concept of the "3Hearts"
The concept of the "3hearts" is a play on a quote I heard in a remake of a show that came out in the 70's called "Shogun." I never watched the old one admittedly. But in the new Show they talk about how we as humans have three "metaphoric hearts". One that is forward facing to the public, one that we share with our friends and family and lastly, our inner most heart. Is only for us.
I think this concept is critical to understand in being able to experience a full life. And sometimes we see and read things differently. Where someone would read 3Hearts another would read a quote from Socrates and hear him say "an unexamined life is not one worth living for a man." Well to me they say the same thing. Separated by a few thousand years of media and a couple conversations later.
We get to this design. It is a statement piece referencing the iconic quote of Foucault "This is not a pipe." These works are statement pieces that call attention to it's aesthetic choices and subject matter.
The Design and shape of the heart is a response to the iconic stylizing of the heart throughout medical literature. How we identify the heart physically, emotionally, spiritually, monetarily, culturally, traditionally.
In that, I focused my intention towards how we treat love culturally and throughout pop Culture. Images of Pepe Le Pew. Michy Mouse and Minnie. Tiffany and Co. Murakami. This then lead me down a rabbit hole in understanding what is to really love someone.
It's is loving them as they are. That I then get to the choices of the tones of the red brush strokes. They are meant to be like flowers. Delicate, light and fleeting.

Water is the sum of its parts. Flowers are a vast network of nerves and sensors looking for life. My work in uncovering the 'idea of the diamond' started with understanding how we, as Canadians, contextualize cultural symbols like diamonds in the realm of art sales and custom framing. As Canadians, we often grant grace to ideas related to work and status. Personally, I believe everyone should be able to enjoy the fruits of their labor—if they are indeed the fruits of YOUR labor. This perspective can be reinterpreted in many ways, especially when considering how these ideas influence our approach to interior design.

In living in a pluralistic society, people from all over the world are locally and intrinsically connected through community, commerce, politics, and a social contract, regardless of race, creed, or religion. In the pursuit of a better tomorrow, we will work together in doing so through initiatives such as art sales that promote inclusivity.
From there, my creative research led me to dive deep into Canadian roots and Indigenous design across the Canadian landscape and from multiple countries and periods, exploring how these styles can inspire modern interior design.
I then cross-examined patterns across early Stone Age cultures and art, where I repeatedly found an acknowledgment between man and land.
This exploration took me into innovations in technology meant to 'make our lives easier,' particularly those influencing custom framing and how artworks can be displayed.
I say this skeptically because some innovations seem to be more course corrections to earlier innovations.

Functionality and innovation can be tricky terms to consider when determining if something is worthwhile, especially in areas such as art sales and interior design. In this journey, I explored my own roots as a mixed Latino artist, born and raised in Canada, with heritage from Central America—roots that have been heavily colonized and muddied. If you were to ask me where I am from, I’d simply say planet Earth. This experience instills a feeling I often describe as being a 'stranger at home.' With age, I learned a valuable lesson: 'Learn to say Hello.' This journey also highlights the importance of mindfulness, awareness, foresight, communication, and action, all of which can enhance the way we approach custom framing and the broader art community.

"Bright Lights" is a piece that touches upon various cultural touchstones inherent to Alberta culture. The Canadian Prairies are renowned for their rich Cowboy culture and a long-standing tradition of farming, which serves as a backdrop for many art sales. This piece also highlights the vital knowledge passed down through oral traditions in Indigenous communities, emphasizing the art of storytelling as a means to articulate human experiences within a broader context.
Furthermore, it serves as a spiritual ancestor to early artists who contextualized the human experience throughout history. This work is truly a love letter to the essence of the people who raise our doctors, lawyers, scientists, nurses, and health aides, capturing their stories in custom framing. As you incorporate this artwork into your interior design, remember its roots in community and culture.

The Yellow Quartz is the name I have given this symbol. This symbol represents "One Unit" of a total Sandino Worx with the new Defined style of Sandino called: "The Quartz Style." It is composed of four panels, creating a distinctive shape that can be manipulated into various sizes and symbolical intentions. This piece embraces both contemporary and traditional elements, fostering a relationship where both ideas can flourish through the artwork, complementing one another while sometimes existing in conflict. My goal is to create work that reflects the functional means of creation and utility, making it ideal for art sales and custom framing in any interior design context. And yet, above all, let the sun shine through.

I enjoy using this style right now as I articulate the nuances of a subject matter in the realm of art sales.
For example:
This piece is called the 'Gia-Gia' Mirror.
Through intentional branding of a work, we are adding 'one layer' of communication between the user and product, which can be critical in interior design.
The abstract forms and contrasting colors invite viewers to appreciate both the whole and the individual parts, making it a perfect fit for custom framing.
